In order to accommodate the increasing demand for swim lessons, some classes may have one instructor and a maximum of 4 children. In order to prepare for swim team and foster independence in the water, pre-swim team has one instructor to a max of 8 children.

Classes will be filled on a first come first served basis with priority given to children already enrolled.

Description of Levels

Parent-child: Water exploration and safety for parents and children under 3 years old. Parents will become comfortable holding their child in different positions to facilitate kicking, arm scoops, blowing bubbles, and back floating. If the child is ready, we may introduce full submersion and independent swimming skills with and without a flotation device. Most importantly, teaching the child that water exploration is fun!

Beginner: Your child will learn how to blow bubbles, fully submerging their face, basic kicking, arm strokes, back floating, entering and exiting the water safely and independently, as well as basic water safety. We will introduce full submersion and independent swimming skills with and without a flotation device.

Advanced Beginner: Children are swimming with face in the water at least 5-10 feet. We will be introducing breathing to the side, back stroke and independent swimming for greater distances. Treading water and deep water safety will be covered.

Intermediate: Children are swimming at least 1/2 of the pool with the face in the water using both crawl and backstroke. Additional refinement of swim skills will be covered. Your child will be improving his or her endurance and confidence in the pool. Breaststroke and diving in the deep water will be introduced. Safety in the pool and natural bodies of water will be covered.

Pre-Swim Team: Children are swimming the full length of the pool independently in both crawl stroke and backstroke. Children will refine their skills in these strokes in addition to improving breaststroke, butterfly, diving and flip turns. Your child will learn to be a competent swimmer and get ready to join our swim team!

Swim Team Children will continue to improve their stroke technique and endurance in the pool. Each week, we focus on a different skill and provide feedback to your child as to their progress. Children are organized into lanes based on age and ability. Each lane has it's own coach dedicated to the swimmers. There is light competition with other local swim teams. We emphasize good sportsmanship and FUN at our meets!

New Makeup Policy:

Due to an overwhelming request by parents and the professional judgment of the instructors, we will no longer be offering makeup classes for missed lessons. Most of our classes are now fully booked which doesn't allow for the addition of a makeup swimmer without overbooking the class. Please understand that this policy has been put into place to maximize the quality of the instruction for your child and for the other swimmers already registered for the class.

If there is a situation where a swimmer needs to be out for 3 or more consecutive classes due to injury, illness or family emergency, please contact us ASAP and we will work something out with you on a case by case basis.
